One of the best things about UCSB is the location. We have the opportunity to hike on trails overlooking the ocean, walk in redwood forests, picnic in wildflower fields, you name it! Here is a list of my favorite hikes and nature spots in Santa Barbara:

1. Gaviota Wind Caves- This is one of those hikes that will put a smile on your face for the rest of the day. About 30 minutes outside of the UCSB campus, this trail will lead you up to wind-carved caves and spectacular views of the ocean

2. Gaviota Hot Springs- Bring a speaker and relax in the natural hot springs with your friends.

3. Lizard's Mouth- This is one of the most popular spots outside of IV to watch sunset and hangout with friends. Just make sure you trust whoever's driving up the curvy roads!

4. SB Botanical Gardens- Go on a sunny day and experience the true beauty of California. Explore the thousands of unique plants native to Santa Barbara- from a dreamy wildflower meadow to a serene, red wood forest!

5. Red Rock Trailhead- This is a perfect spot to go on a hot day. Pack a towel, some drinks and snacks and relax in the beautiful natural pool. Just make sure you clean up after yourself and leave no trace.
